Top Chef NY! I'm so excited!

In my mind Richard Blais is a superstar. I can't wait to see who'll enter his ranks, along side Sam, Tre & Harold.
I love Jerrel! Big N Tasty baby! Plus a banging too.
Joe is going home! That's going to make her look even more voluptuous.
Hedda Lettuce!
I need more Tim in my life.
Leann's always safe. (like not eliminated) ooh cute plaid top Le.

"The Greatest Show on Earth"- Project Runway live blooging

Based on the pairings alone:
Joe Blows
And I love Jerrel (I never thought I'd ever say)
Kenley and her girl are sisters from different misters.
Kortos girl needs to loosen up.
Jerrels girl is the female version of him! "Kinda awkward just like her and me!"
Leann's "mom" is slowly strangling me.
Suede's pants are gonna suck.
Joe's girl is the "middle America" version of Whitney meets Kelly Osbourne.
"LEATHA!" I miss Stella. I wonder how Ratbones is?
Pucci-esque I need more of that in my life.
Bye Swatch! what a cute dog

Tim Gunn is the guest judge on the Project Runway Finale!

In previous years on "Project Runway" (e.g. the greatest show on earth) the guest judge for the final show at Bryant Park has been some famous person with a "passion" but certainly not a bonafide career or name in fashion, like Victoria Beckham or Debra Messing (which i'm still trying to comprehend.) this year J.LO was supposed to be the judge but pulled out at the last minute due to a booty injury or something. but who cares, because for the first time ever TIM GUNN is the guest judge.

this season has been pretty great and the fact that 2 designers got axed this week means things are getting very, very serious. i can't wait to see who makes it to the final 3 or maybe even 4. i'm rooting for Korto and then Leeann and maybe Kenley if she isn't really annoying next week. though Jerrel has been surprising me a lot lately and stepping up his game. his avant garde dress (pictured below) was reminiscent of what Marc Jacobs showed this week. and let's certainly not count out Joe, while the fact that Suede got called out by Michael Kors for referring to himself in the 3rd person is the main reason i want him to stick around, so i can hear what MK is gonna say next.
though now that Mercedes-Benz fashion week is over and a winner has been decided, will it actually be kept a secret?

fashion week favorites - Marc Jacobs

i must confess i love Marc Jacobs! not necessarily his clothes, which are very beautiful, but the man himself. since the moment i saw his bespeckled face and long hair, sometime around the mid 90's when he brought high end grunge to the runway. than a few years ago he underwent a makeover that rivaled Tai's in "Clueless" that unleashed the stone fox, the world has most recently encountered.
while the man is clearly a sexy beast, with a great sense of humor, i think he is one of THE most important artists of our time, because his work isn't confined simply to the medium of fashion, but he has been able to transcend that, and also be known as a cultural icon. he's been described as his generation's Andy Warhol and i completely agree. yes he is an artist, but he is also a business man, and has been able to create and run multiple artisitic empires, that equate to Andy's "Factory." while i'm just bananas about the man himself, his design aesthetic - at least for his eponymous collection- is not totally in tune with my personal style, while coincidentally i'm just mad for what he creates for Marc by Marc and Louis Vuitton.

in order for me to best describe Marc's Spring 2009 collection, i must borrow from Project Runway judge "and top America Designer Michael Kors," and just say for each model "that's a lotta look!" but they sure look beautiful. the detail, as always, is impeccable. even though each look has a lot of layering, i really like the individuality of the pieces because most people would never, and should never, wear the look exactly like it came off the runway. but MJ's looks are just so put together and fun, you cannot even imagine where people would go wearing them, but wish you actually knew of that place and hope it will exists one day.
