it's almost winter and that means it's time to break out coats, hats, gloves...oh wait fall or winter doesn't exist in miami, which means neither does fall fashion because it's simply way too hot. sadly none of us will be able to wear clothing as exquisitely executed as the outfits below, but we can always dream.

i got banged

with my 23rd birthday soon upon me i figured i'd take the leap and change a few things starting with my hair. i'll make sure to add an incredibly fierce photo later, but for now i'll simply include the silliness that came about while futzing about on a G4.

it certainly isn't as intense as a few oh the photos below but it shall be soon enough.



so blogging about my hair may seem a bit superficial and kind of vain but i came across these pictures of britney spears and wondered why she didn't just walk around with whatever the F is actually on her hair rather than that crack head hair do she's sporting now. amy winehouse's beehive (that occasionally looks rat-infested) looks better than whatever the F britney is trying to pull off and everyone knows amy winehouse is on drugs (allegedly.)

why do "intelligent" people do the stupidest things?

i just came across an article about a student majoring in computer science at M.I.T who strapped a fake bomb to her chest and walked into Logan International Airport. I just don't understand how anyone could find that amusing, entertaining or even logical in the era we live in. the creators of aqua teen pulled a prank this summer by leaving briefcases with flashing lights and an image of one of the characters on it this summer around cities and that cause quite a stir, but come on didn't this chick see "meet the parents" you can't even say bomb on an airplane anymore. there are 2 different links below about what happened.

robot rant #1

for those of you who don't know me in the fall of 2004, i started referring to and introducing myself as a robot. this was definitely not too surprising for most people, since no one actually objected to my blatantly absurd declaration, and because throughout my freshman year i introduced myself as JENNY FROM THE BLOCK, since i did grow up in miami i would quickly add "technically it's jenny from down the block." so sharing with people that i was now a robot because i was too "cool/weird/ aerodynamic" to be human wasn't too much of a stretch for people to accept. the real reason for my robotic assimilation was my obsession with the 80's dance move "the robot" ( of holding one arm akimbo and swinging it back and forth very slowly) and that i feel so incredibly awkward most of the time that "becoming a robot" was an escape from the onslaught of constantly overwhelming of human emotion. not that i was an empath or anything but being part of the walking (emotionally) wounded can kinda suck.
we're all robots in our own right at times though, we all go through the motions of what's acceptable or cool or doing whatever we need to to fit in and become automatons. but my roboticism was an attempt to be totally original, purely individual and undeniably silly. both titles still stick and will always hold endearing memories somewhere in my brain, but for now i'll just stick to jennifer. don't worry i haven't grown up, i'm nowehere near that but have to pretend to be semi-professional in search for a job, which is why i have entitled my blog RANTS OF A FORMER ROBOT. i still have a great affinity and appreciation for those able to do it full time like the brilliant minds behind the musical madness that is DAFT PUNK.

omg i can't believe i made a blog

a few weeks ago over dinner i shared with stephen my latest discoveries from the several blogs i visit throughout my day. not that any of that subject matter is of any importance now, but he suggested that i should have my own and that he'd set it up for me. i contemplated the thought for a second and said "why not. it'll at least be a productive distraction and keep me off facebook!" so this is the blog. i'm not too sure what the content will be , mostly whatever fascinates, enthralls, irks me and i'm compelled to write about.

i hope whoever ends up reading this:
1. recognizes i did this on a whim (hence the blogname and url)
2. postings are opinion not gospel (unless i mention otherwise)
3. doesn't take anything i say about them personally (this is MY forum to say whatever i please, so if you don't like it make your own blog!)
4. enjoys themself while reading since i intend to and that's why i created this
