Alexander Skarsgard breaks Lady Gaga's legs - Paparazzi

I love Lady Gaga, because she's batshit crazy and not afraid to admit it but I love/hate her even more, now that she had Alexander Skarsgard play her boyfriend in the video for her single 'Paparazzi.' Check out the full video below.

The best damn band in town...

by far is Awesome New Republic, and I'm not the only person who thinks so. I've been utterly in love with their music since the I randomly caught them at The University of Miami's mini music festival Canefest in 2005. They've moved out of town and returned, changed their lineup and & played almost every venue of note in this town, but their sound has remained the same, and undeniable amazing, so check out & enjoy their video for "Digital World."

quite possibly one of the best bands in the country they just don't have

please take a moment to rock out to - Gossip

Maybe I’m feeling a little too maudlin, but I just want to rock out and burst into tears (mainly of joy, & a little bit for heartbreak’s sake) over this song. The Gossip have slowly but surely gaining indie cred for a few years now, and I hope more people check them out, because I CANNOT STOP LISTENING TO HEAVY CROSS.

please take a moment to Rock the F out to - White Lies

White Lies are my new favorite band and I can't wait to see them on Friday at Coachella. The first time I heard their music was the same night I heard Panic Bomber's and can only speak highly of them both, though they sound nothing alike. They're a cross between Editors, Interpol and Joy Division, but definitely have a sense of humor & are willing to step outside their genre and cover Kanye West. They'll be touring all over the world this summer, so if you have the chance to check them out you should, or you can buy their debut album at your nearest Target for under 10 bucks.

If I Ever Feel Better

I've been nuts about this song for a while but even more, since it was the closing credits on Entourage last fall. If you haven't head of Phoenix yet they're great and will be the musical guest on SNL this weekend, (Seth Rogen will host) to help promote their new and supposedly incredibly new album "Wolfgang Amadaeus Phoenix"

Elliot Smith

elliot smith

when I was 14 I literally fell in love with the music of Elliot Smith after seeing Good Will Hunting which was chock full of his utterly beautiful songs. After buying the soundtrack and every one of his albums I could get my hands on I immersed myself in his dreamy tunes of lost love, heart break and hope. When I think about falling in love I think about him and the effect his music had on me. Sadly Elliot

What the fudge?

this is F-ing ridiculous and the only line I can use to explain the shenanigans of last night....

"Take me to New York, I'd love to see L.A..."

This song just doesn't get old.

Don't Let It Get You Down

Stay Don't Go

"if you were here, would you calm me down or settle the score..."

This song has been stuck in my head and has kind of been playing like clockwork the moment I wake up, almost every few days for about 3 weeks now. I guess I can no longer deny that the ghost of "The Ghost Of You Lingers," really does linger.

"I just can't get you out of my head, your loving is all I think about..."

I didn't feel the need to be to vague when quoting the lyrics of this incredibly hot song, since it's true right now. I've been crazy about it since it came out and actually love when it's stuck in my head, accompanied by the the thought of a particular gentleman, which just so happened to overwhelm me out of nowhere today.

please take a moment to Rock the F out to - Franz Ferdinand's Tonight

I've been meaning to post about Franz Ferdinand's latest album "Tonight" since it came out at the end of January, but haven't had the chance because words couldn't really express how much I absolutely love this album. It was exactly what I needed, & didn't even realize it. Track after track, is full of jaunty dance rhythms that only improve on their 2 previous albums, and prove that they're more than just an iPod/Madden sensation (though coincidentally enough "No You Girls" is featured in the latest iPod Touch commercials.)
Franz's first album was such a triumph and not only because Take Me Out blew up and made the band an international sensation, but thanks to great songs like "This Fire" and continuously sick licks. So when their 2nd album came out I was mildly disappointed and can't really recall ever fully appreciating it, aside from "Do You Want To." Though with "Tonight" they're back in top form and get your hips shaking from the moment it starts with "Ulysses." I posted the original version of Lucid Dreams when it was first available, but the album version is a rather different and really extended version with a sick breakdown. So I've included the entire album in order, plus a few of my favorite tracks from their first album.

please take a moment to Chill the F out to - Fujiya & Miyagi

Fujiya & Miyagi are not Japanese and more than 2 people. This 3 man outfit is actually from Brighton, England, & obviously into things fromt the Far East [can I still refer to Asia as that?] and Karate instructors. You may have heard part of "Collarbone" in the new Jaguar ads, which is a great song but they're all pretty rad. Anyhoozie, they're no Hot Chip, but still pretty damn cool.

please take a moment to Rock the F out to - TV On The Radio

Originally this post was titled" Tunde Adebimpe, will you marry me?" but thought I should focus on their ability rather than my obsession, fascination and adoration. While Kyp Malone looks just like my uncle and Dave Sitek is quite possibly (1 of) THE coolest white guy[s] on the planet, my heart belongs to Tunde Adebimpe. I've proclaimed my love for TV On The Radio on more than one occassion but just had to once again.

Ring The Alarm...oh wait nevermind, no need

I came back from lunch yesterday guns, blazin, fully prepared to kick ass and take names to end the week off right. But there were no emergencies and nothing major to oversee, and no need for me to "Ring The Alarm." I've felt an overwhelming amount of anxiety this week for reasons unknown, but I'm finally breathing easier. I definitely still wanted to rock out to this song, because Beyonce kills it and looks amazing in every scene, while paying homage to a few film femme fatales.

"well if the sky can crack, there must be some way back to love and only love..."

U2 "Electrical Storm"

"don't stand there watching me, follow me. show me what you can do..."

this song has been stuck in my head since Christmas, mainly because my brother would sing the chorus over and over and over again...no doubt about it this shit is catchy
