Happy Bastille Day!

For those of you not in the know here's why it's a holiday, and a reason to do a completely gratuitous Romain Duris post!

Being Beauteous

Against the snow of Being a high-statured Beauty. Whistlings of death and circles of secret music make the adored body, like a specter, rise, expand, and quiver; wounds of black and scarlet burst in the superb flesh. - Life's own colors darken, dance, and drift around the Vision in the making. - Shudders rise and rumble, and the delerious savor of these effects clashing with the deadly hissings and the hoarse music that the world, far behind us, hurls at our mother of beauty, - she recoils, she rears up. Oh, our bones are clothed with an amorous new body.

O the ashy faces, the crined escutcheon, the crystal arms! the cannon on which I am to fall in the melee of trees and of light air!

yo to the yo

Happy Thursday people, and what better way to wind down the week then to share another awesome party opportunity with you fine people. Miami's own Panic Bomber will be playing The Vagabond on Friday, May 15th with the one, the only Van*Gloria. It should be a delightful night of amazing music so check it out if you have the chance.

For Valentine's Day I've opted to do a very special version of "please take a moment to Rock the F out" and provided you with music to chillax to. Ladies and Gentlemen,

Did you get what you wanted?

Happy Hanukkah everybody!

Though Hannukah started on Sunday bnight and we're half way through the Festival of Lights, I'd be remiss not to mention it and give a shout out to Judah Maccabee, considering growing up in Miami, 98% of my friends were Jewish which made me Jewish by association. Plus it's so much funikah to celebrate Channukah!

While looking for the perfect picture of a Menorah to post I came across all these great ones I had to share.

How I spent Veterans Day

It was such a beautiful day out, that after watching 4 episodes of "Band of Brothers" I had to get a couple of shots off.

surprisingly enough i'm not too excited for Halloween this year...

Last Halloween I was Cleopatra, i even had my own sickly looking slave boy who followed me around in gold pants "for effect,"(and no that is not a picture of him above.) so I think I could play her in the live-action 3D musical Steven Soderbergh is working on, instead of Catherine Zeta-Jones.
this year i'm still undecided on what to do/who to be, though Josephine Baker, Diana Ross in "Mahogany," and Grace Jones are all very high on the list, mainly so i can wear my own clothes. though it may seem lame, i prefer "dressing up" regulary and just haven't been totally inspired by a costume or concept yet enough to succumb to falling into line with everyone else.
