the first hurricane of the season...

ok well technically it's the 2nd since clearly it's name is Birtha. so we're not in any trouble and this storm stands no chance of hitting us, but i had to mention it . but there is nothing on the radar apparently for the next 6 days no wonder the homeless live outside down here.

I adore Phil Cassel... WALL-E Review

...but i do not apologize for calling him out. a week and a half ago i saw Disney Pixar's "WALL-E," with my good friend Phil Cassel. whenever i ask a friend for a review i make sure to ask them to only spare/waste 5 minutes of their time to do so. though phil took much longer than expected to provide me with his review, he went well beyond my expectations and delivered an honest, thoughtful and great review of a film with all those qualities as well:

I have never been very fond of movie reviews. My opinion is that if you see a preview and you want to see the movie, then go see the movie. If someone you trust tells you to see a movie, then go see the movie. If you see that movie and it sucks then that person loses your trust in movie opinions (you only get one chance). When Jennifer asked me to do this review of Wall-E I instantly said yes. After thinking about it and realizing my great distaste for reviews, I pondered not doing one at all. But Jennifer has prevailed, which she tends to do.

Wall-E definitely reached expectations (the ones I set myself from the preview). It is a very clever movie that says a lot about society and doesn't need words to do it. The simplicity of the task that the robot is designed to do is pure genius. The humans could not have been a more accurate representation of where our stereotypical society is heading. Go see the movie. I would not have agreed to do this unless I felt as though there was no possible way my movie judgment could be discredited. Enjoy!

I heart Miami

Even the homeless have it made in this town. I saw this bum outside my office today when I was leaving for lunch. When I returned an hour later he was still there and I had to take a photo.

invasion so succexxy

so i saw this video on the 4th of July for the 1st time. i found it pretty poignant on the day we celebrated the signing of The Declaration of Independence that i found a video that reminded me of our obsession with war, violence and power...how else would we have gotten to where we are today. "invasion so succexxy, so succexxy..."

last week i posted some pictures from when i went to go see WALL-E with my soon to be former close friend Phillip Elkin Cassel. as you know i like to have my friends post reviews of concerts we go to here, and so i decided to branch out to movies. only because i've gotten to spend some time with some people i don't often get to see, so i wanted to integrate into my life social digital life. this past saturday i saw WANTED with my first real friend Olivia Wolfe, but more on that later. Phil owes me a review so i told him i was going to call him out for what he promised which has not been recieved. Pascal Goldschmidt I am very very disappointed with you...

"WANTED" review

so i saw WANTED with my first real friend Olivia Laurence Wolfe this past weekend. Olivia and i met when we were about 4 years old on the playground of Gulliver Academy. so not only is she my first real friend but my oldest that i still keep in touch with. now please enjoy her 5 minute review:

how about a five WORD review...james mcavoy is extremely sexy. i think that sort of sums up the movie..that and bullets hitting each other at rapid speeds over and over and over and over and over...(like a monkey with a miniature symbol)...

and that pretty much sums up the cinematic jewel that is WANTED. though i'm still not sure if i believe James MacAvoy as action star. oh and olivia is an incredibly talented artist. please, please, please check out her stuff here.

i'm suffering from blog withdrawal...

so it's been over a week since i've written a legitimate post. get ready to be INUNDATED with nonsense...incredibly thought out and relatively well written nonsense, but nonsense none the less since at times are words are nothing more than that at times. anyhoo, a lot and nothing much is happening as always. i'm debating weather or not to go to the GEN ART screening of this new Josh Hartnett movie thursday, "AUGUST." it technically could be work related, but we shall see what i decide...
