I've posted this ad before, but I just found out there's a behind the scenes video of the execution for the Season 3 Poster, that Don...I mean Jon mentioned in a funny and refreshing interview he did with The AV Club, where he doesn't reveal squat about the new season but gives props to Breaking Bad.

I'm dreaming about Mad Men

For anyone who read this blog last summer/fall you should be aware I'm pretty crazy for "Mad Men." I've been able to keep my zeal in check, since season 2 ended back in October and have been biding my time with other great shows til it returns on August 16th, 2009.

I orginally wrote a draft of this post back in November when Mad Men went off the air because I had a dream about John Slattery, who I've had a mini crush on him since he was on Sex & The City (even though he wanted to pee on Carrie.) I barely remember what happened in the dream, just that he was in it & figured I was suffering from MM withdrawal. Then I had another dream back in March that I was at a private Coldplay concert [ here I'll do it for you, "Hey you know how I know you're gay..."] and ran into Jon Hamm with his actual girlfriend actress Jennifer Westfeldt and we chatted like old friends and I commented on how he was dressed like an English Professor, in a beige corduroy jacket with elbow patches... Yes I know it's bonkers, but coincidentally the night after I had that dream AMC started to rebroadcast the second season.

Anyhoo Vanity Fair has a fantastic feature on the show and it's upcoming season, that was supposed to be a cover story, but was bumped in order for the Farah Fawcett/Michael Jackson tribute issues that are now on stands. All the pictures in this post are from the shoot for the article, and they only make me more excited for the third season of the Best Drama on television. Are you excited?

But I'm soooooooooooo excited considering I postitively love this show and can't wait to find out what's going to happen next with Don and Betty's baby, but mainly with Peggy and Pete, & I'm hoping Ken Cosgrove, finally gets some respect and a little more air time.

"Breaking Bad" is badass and brilliant

"Breaking Bad" is one of the most exciting, original and well acted shows on TV and you're probably not watching it. I immersed myself in a season 1 marathon all day Sunday to prep myself for the Season 2 premiere and even got my mom to watch all 7 episodes which she really enjoyed and she's a harsher critic than Simon Cowell. Three quarters of the way into the premiere episode she asked me "What is this crap" and I informed her that "Breaking Bad" is about a high school chemistry teacher who lives a simple life in Albaquerque finds out he's got inoperable lung cancer and decides to make crystal meth so he can leave his pregnant wife and teenage son money after he's gone. He ends up teaming up with a former student, who failed chemistry but happens to be a killer salesman, and the comic relief on the show. I want to say that it's reminiscent of great dramas like The Wire and The Shield, but it's something completely new and different.

Breaking Bad is just a stellar accomplishment that I can only speak highly of and wish that I had back in September after Cranston won the Emmy for Best Actor in a Television Drama, he beat out Jon Hamm's beautifully bleak Don Draper! So check out this show if you have the chance and want to see something great.

Wow Bryan Cranston won Best Actor in a Drama for "Breaking Bad"! Congrats to him, I've been a fan since "Malcolm in the Middle."
Its official Mad Men is the Best show on TV! It won the Emmy for Best Drama, and the pilot won for Best Writing for a Dramatic Series, beating out the series finale of "The Wire." the torch has been passed

Mad Men is the greatest show on TV right now

I have absolutely no idea why it took me so long to post about "Mad Men," because it just happens to be the best show on TV. it premiered last summer on AMC, and was up against USA's highly publicized spy-dramedy "Burn Notice," which one the ratings race, but certainly not the superior reviews. not until right before the 2nd season premiered this July did I fully emerse myself in this gem of a show. not only did it win the Golden Globe for Best Dramatic Television Series, the actor the show is centered around, Jon Hamm, (my boyfriend) won the award for Best Lead Actor in a Dramatic Television Series. though because of the Writer's Strike, the ceremony wasn't broadcast so most people had no idea, but now more and more most certainly do.
i recommend this show over everything else that's on TV right now. since "The Wire" ended this past spring, i've been desperate to find a program as rewarding, enriching, and well executed, and "Mad Men" is most definitely it.

the show takes place in Manhattan on Madison Avenue in the early 60's at the Sterling-Cooper Advertising Agenvy. "mad men" is a term that advertising execs coined about themselves and their high flying, hard working, 3 martini lunch lives. every aspect and detail of the show is impeccable, from the the scripts to the costumes, the entire cast and crew is dedicated to transporting the audience to a different era and they most certainly succeed. yes it is a drama, but the show has a great many comedic moments that hold their own against the gut-wrenching situations that unfold. for those of you desperate to catch up on what's happening Entertainment Weekly has created "10 Things New Viewers Need to Know" or the " Episode Guides" to fill you in. though i recommend buying the first season immediately and then somehow trying to dive into the second as soon as possible. i must warn you, while watching you'll desperately want to drink and smoke cigarettes, even if you're not a drinker or a smoker. i've posted a LOT of pictures of below, hoping to capture the beauty, elegance and sheer brilliance of this show. once you've enjoyed them, START WATCHING "MAD MEN!"
