Swung by The Standard to see Toxic Avenger & Panic Bomber, but Mother Nature decided to rain on the parade and I only got to catch Silent Disco, who totally killed it. If you have the chance to take advantage of the many amenities this sweet hotel offers, I highly recommend it, I'm in love with their pool.

You may have heard part of Make The Girl Dance's "Baby, Baby, Baby" during a Victoria's Secret ad, which should have given me a clue as to how these boys rock out and drive girls wild. The just played a party boat at SXSW with the incomparable Panic Bomber, and are playing Bardot again this Wednesday with him, to kick off Winter Music Conference. If you have the chance, and love to dance check'em out.

Spring has finally sprung, and the weather is slowly but surely getting warmer (higher than 60's at night.) But the sign that Spring is officially here is that Winter Music Conference is upon us which of course culminates with Ultra Music Festival.) There are so many events happening around town, that I plan on skipping practically all of them this year (aside from a Panic Bomber show or 2.)For the first time in a very long time, I am going to attempt to lay low, but I love me some electronic music, and may decide to hit up Ultra at the last minute. For the time being I will be sharing the music of a few great acts I can't stop listening to.

Here's the initial lineup for Ultra Music Festival...hmm pretty sweet, but we shall see...

12 Days of Panic Bomber

I've said a thousand fantastic things about Panic Bomber, and certainly could say a thousand more, but I'll let someone else do the praising and the press for the time being:

Miami, Florida - December 1, 2009 - PANIC BOMBER's Getting on My Mind LP will be released December 15 as part of the 12 Days of Panic Bomber campaign. Getting on My Mind is 8 new songs plus 4 remixes of the title track, including a version by Takeshi Muto, one half of the influential IDM duo Phoenecia. Notable tracks from the album include, Getting on My Mind, Keep Ignoring, A Giant Tortoise and Bang on the Walls. The December 15th release date will be preceded by a marketing campaign titled, "12 Days of Panic Bomber," running from December 4 - 15. The campaign will facilitate fan interaction in the lead up to the physical release. Each day will include the release of a new piece of Panic Bomber media as well as giveaways to fans that join the fan club on panicbomber.com. On the tenth day, Saturday December 12th, the famed White Room in Miami will hold the record’s official release party, promoted by the heavy hitting combination of Overthrow, Embrace, and Sweat Records, the show will feature The Panic Bomber performing live with a full horn section, dancers and other special guests. Tickets for show will be available at wanttickets.com/embrace. Panicbomber.com, Sweat, and Radio Active Records will begin selling physical copies on December 15th, the final day of the "12 Days" campaign.


Robothands.com, a video production company from NYC, is currently filming a video for the dance edit of the single, "Getting on My Mind." Live footage of Panic Bomber, both solo and with a live band, can be found at panicbomber.com/video.

Bat for Lashes has been racking up the critical acclaim for a few years now and has been compared to the likes of Björk and Imogen Heap, but I think I may fall for this woman (real name Natasha Khan,) like I fell for Lykke Li. I caught her on the "Late Show with David Letterman" with David Letterman a few weeks ago, and have had "Daniel" stuck in my head since.

photo envy - Ultra Music Festival Roundup

Originally this post was titled "A Whole Lotta Love" when I drafted it on Sunday. Though exhaustion finally kicked in and I wasn't able to finish it (let alone barely post anything this week) til now. So Ultra Music Festival was positively ACE! The music was fantastic, but the best part was that I got to share it with people I've known & loved over the course of the past 20 years! I love and appreciate them all & am incredibly thankful to have such an array of great friends. Especially those that took pictures and posted them on Facebook because I'm too clumsy to carry an actual camera around with me, I have "borrowed" theirs. First I want give a short shout out to those who truly made this weekend worth while.
