It's Monday...

& in honor of Comic-Con starting this week I figured I'd give you a taste of Dr. Horrible, a 43 minute long musical extravaganza created by the amazing Joss Whedon and starring Emmy nominee Neil Patrick Harris, about a lovelorn would-be supervillain and the video blog he records in his home . trailer trash - Bored to Death

This edition of trailer trash is a little different because for the first time I'm featuring a Television show and not a movie. Bored to Death is a new HBO original comedy starring the brilliant and adorable, Jason Schwartzman. More importantly ZACH GALIFIANAKIS IS ALSO ON THE SHOW! While Entertainment Weekly thinks it may be the hipster version of 'Castle,' I don't care I can't wait til September!

She's on the cover of Elle this month (that happens to have 2 different covers,) Esquire and does a Q & A with Entertainment Weekly, to promote the release of Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. Though Jezebel saved you a whole bunch of time and $ and summed up her "best and worst bon mots, for you."

This sweet, endearing, quirky "meta-documentary-cum-romance [called] Paper Heart, follows Michael Cera's inamorata Charlyne Yi and her quest to discover what love really is" according to Entertainment Weekly (who happens to be totally obsessed with this flick already.)

I jokingly posted about Lindsay Lohan yesterday for the first time ever and coincidentally learned some news about her career later in the day that just made my post seem even more relevant and sad. It turns out that the last movie she worked on, "Labor Pains," is going straight to cable. Considering she's more known for her antics than her acting these days, it's not too shocking, yet still pretty sad, since I've watched The Parent Trap [last Sunday for probably the 23rd time, before Natasha Richardson was in her fatal/tragic skiing accident] and Mean Girls [every weekend sophomore year of college] more times than anyone ever should. The comments alone at the end of the article are ridiculous, entertaining, true and a myriad of other adjectives I can't even begin to list. So here it is folks, Lindsay's second to last role.

More "Watchmen" madness

Last week in between the blitzkrieg of New York Fashion Week posts I inundated you with, I posted about the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly that featured Dr. Manhattan on the cover. Well it turns out that there were actually 6 different covers [featured above] for each Superhero. They're all badass but surprisingly enough I'm not that into Matthew Goode's cover as Ozymandias, mainly because he's unrecognizable.

Anyhoozie, the UK Premiere was last night, which got me excited because it means the US one is not far off and March 6 will finally be here. I'm still not sure whether or not I'm going to see this ouevre at 12:01 AM Friday (it is almost 3 hours long and I have to go to work the next day) or devote my entire Friday evening to it. Either which way I'll keep you posted. Below are some pics from the premiere.

Generation Kill is incredible...and I haven't even seen it yet

so i'm writing this post without having fully watched the HBO mini series "Generation Kill," but i am going to already claim that is it amazing! you may be wondering how i could make a statement like that without ever having watched a full episode. this article backs my insanity because i could/should have written it, here's how it starts:

I was a huge fan of David Simon's HBO series The Wire. I never missed an episode. You probably read about The Wire, since it was the kind of show that caused 1 million journalists to write 1 million articles complaining that only 1 million people were watching. (Hey, we tried.) So when HBO scheduled Generation Kill, Simon's seven-part miniseries about the members of a Marine platoon during the early weeks of the Iraq war, it went straight to the top of my must-watch list. And stayed there. For a really long time. Unwatched.

I don't remember why I missed the first episode, but I get credit — don't I? — because I DVR'd it. In fact, I DVR'd all of them. They sat in an orderly list on my ''My Recordings'' screen, glowering at me, reproachfully saying, ''You must watch me. I must be watched. Man up!'' I confessed this to a
friend via e-mail, and she wrote back, ''I know just what you mean. This show is constipating my DVR!''

by the time i actually post this i will have finally given "Generation Kill" the focus it deserves. David Simon is truly brilliant and i'm really excited to dive into this show before i get carried away by the tidle wave that is the Fall TV season. (to be honest i think i kind of forgot how to watch network TV since the writer's strike; i'm so used to watching the shows i truly enjoy On Demand. which is how i was able to get into one of the most outstanding shows on television "Mad Men.") i'll make sure to report back from the front lines.

When I grow up I want to go to Comic-Con

trailer trash "The Watchmen" (movies I'm excited about and hope they don't suck...)

So this post is (hopefully) the first of many in a series i have entitled "movies i'm excited about and hope they don't suck." time and time again we have all sat down to watch something hoping it would be entertaining, interesting but more than anything, good. that's how i felt about "Wanted," granted it wasn't terribly but it wasn't amazing.

"The Watchmen" hugely popular comic book series is coming to the big screen! though i'm only mildy familiar with the source material, i'm well aware of how important and revolutionary the comic was. this movie is going to be so big (for the nerd & special effects community) that massive amounts of press coverage is being shared now and the movie doens't come out until March 2009. my interest in the film arose becasuse of my utter and complete infatuation with Matthew Goode - who also happens to be in another movie i'm really excited to see this summer, "The Brideshead Revisted" that's based on an incredible book.

anyway "The Watchmen" has an incredibly talented (and attractive) cast plus it's directed by Zack Snyder who also did "300." MTV has an interview and trailer for the movie which can be seen here, while Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive first look as well, and you can either see the 1st trailer before "The Dark Knight" which opens today or you can check it out right here. i'm pretty sure (well i'm hoping at least) this movie may be the coolest thing since sliced bread, but i guess i'll found out for certain in march.

UPDATE: i've opted to call this series "Trailer Trash"
