The XX have been garnering great press, slowly but surely over the course of the past year now, and once you listen to their electronic mellowness you'll know why. Enjoy!

Friday the Fun-teenth!

Yes my title is incredibly cheesy, but I thought some levity was necessary when shouting out the multi-talented and totally ridiculous, Panic Bomber after taking a gander at the flyer for his show this Friday, November 13th at The Vagabond. So hopefully I'll see you freaks and fans there!

please take a moment to Chill the F out to - The Swell Season

I've mentioned this Oscar Winning duo before after seeing their incredible film Once for which they won the Best Song Award, but still don't think I've expressed how glorious I truly think they are. After the meteoric rise and continuous critical praise of the film, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova decided to keep making music together as The Swell Season. Their new album, entitled "Strict Joy" is positively beautiful and below are a few interviews followed by live performances of some of those songs at NPR's studio from last month. I recommend picking up a copy (Target's selling it for $9.99) or procuring it whatever way you acquire music, because it's heartbreakingly beautiful.

I appreciate you...

Hello fair readers, it's been a while since I've legitimately contributed anything original to this space. I lost my job as The Film Permit Coordinator for The City of Miami, due to a $180 million dollar deficit at the start of October, and have spent most of my time "online" since looking for work and searching through the mire that is the interweb. I must confess I just wasn't particularly inspired to write or share anything til now, though I did do a lot of drafting, so expect an onslaught of photos from my time in Europe, music and Monty Python related posts in the near future.

I also want to take some time to thank those of you who take the time out of your day, to see if I've written any nonsense to entertain you. My brother in particular, a great guy who can be seriously silly and all too serious. I also want to thank Brian, who I just don't see enough, but whenever I do always tells me I'm a better writer than I think I am - though he's "not a fan of all the fashion stuff." I greatly appreciate it, and miss him and The Cuda. I've also got to thank the gorgeous, brilliant and kind Olivia Wolfe for being quite possibly one of the best friends a girl could have, and know we'll be friends for another 20 years. I also want to thank Richard for giving me a not-so-stern talking to about the difference between people who call themselves "artists" and those who actually are, is that artists actually produce "art"...I think. It was something along those lines, I only kind of recall it was after The Junior Boys show so things are a bit hazy.
And of course I'd like to thank those who inspire me in so many ways, that I can't even begin to list them because there are simply too many, so I'll just go all Ancient Greek and praise The Gods and of course you!
