dope shades

Cutler & Gross are an eyewear line that have been around for about 40 years, and are clearly not going anywhere anytime soon because they make ridiculously awesome and exciting glasses.

these stellar shades are from their spring/summer 2008 collaboration with Comme des Garcons: "This collection was inspired by the multi layered sleeves on the jackets in the S/S 08 Comme Des Garcons Homme Plus collection. The glasses are available exclusively at Dover Street Market in London and all PR enquiries should go through CDG."

they also collaborated with another popular European line, Mulberry: "Mulberry has teamed up with Cutler and Gross for its Sunglasses debut for Spring/Summer 2008. The collection showcases a small history from the archives of Cutler & Gross dating back from the bold block colors of the early eighties to rock & roll style of the nineties.Exclusively for the Mulberry stores, the frames will debut January 2008, and will retail at £225."

these dope shades cost a pretty penny, but as you can see it's hard not to look pretty in them. below you can find out all about Cutler & Gross:

Over the last 39 years Graham Cutler and Tony Gross have spear-headed the revolution that turned eyewear from medical necessity into key fashion accessory. From their London base in Knightsbridge, Cutler and Gross began building its eyewear empire. The Cutler and Gross brand has become a by-word for originality and flair. It’s client base transcends all ages, industries and backgrounds, drawing from the worlds of music, the arts, finance, fashion, journalism and design.
Clients are not defined by their profession, but by an identification with the style and quality of the product. The Cutler and Gross frame designs and colours have a unique capacity to invoke the imagination. "They don’t have a logo, aren’t ostentatious and are utterly Glam" - The Independent newspaper. Cutler and Gross celebrates the individual rather than the label, a philosophy which has enabled them to be both internationally chic and discerningly underground. We have over 900 styles of frames in our archive, for a personal viewing please make an appointment with Marie Wilkinson at 16 Knigtsbridge Green.

riding out to vampire weekend

you can read my review of the show here!

if you leave food out for dogs to reach...

they will eat it...then spit it up because they don't know how to eat corn.

omg anna wintour actually wears something more than once!

so anna wintour, editrix of VOGUE, really loves Prada (there was a book and a movie supposedly based on her Devil-ish Love for the the designer,) but apparently she really loves Oscar de la Renta. so much so she's worn the same dress out to 2 different events in the past 2 weeks. which isn't too shocking since that's what normal people do, but this woman is heralded as the end all and be all of fashion and it's great to know she can't help but wear something she loves as often as possible. anna is "the most powerful woman at the most powerful magazine in fashion," in an idustry that thrives on consumerism it's just intriguing to see her photographed in the same thing in such a short time period.L: In Oscar de la Renta Resort 2009 with Vera Wang, Tommy Hilfiger's Engagement Party; New York, June 9.
R: Sex and the City Premiere After Party; New York, May 27.

we're in a recession and even the fashion industry is feeling it. but that's not stopping anyone from creating beautiful and luxurious pieces of art that are often quantified as "price upon request." and one fashion house who isn't afraid of an economic decline and has started their wares online is Balenciaga.

anyone who knows me knows my obsession with fashion, and one of my favorite designers right now that i can't wait to wear when "i grow up" is l Nicholas Ghesquiere for Balenciaga or "the master of us all." i love them not just for their creation of THE most beautiful gladiator heel in existence and their use of the gorgeous and elegant jennifer connoly in their ad campaign (which can both be seen to the left.) but for the innovation and unconventionally phenomenal wares they create. which can be seen in their new resort collection. which just happens to be too damn cool as always. so here's a look at the Balenciaga Resort 2009 line.

basically resort lines are for people with too much damn money, because women are supposed to be wearing these outfits in the tropical location they go to during the winter months on holiday or cruises. how absurd, yet how chic.

I'M THE WORST BLOGGER EVER

I'M SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SORRY TO THE 3.4 PEOPLE THAT ACTUALLY READ THIS THING. I SOLEMLY SWEAR MY MID YEAR'S RESOLUTION IS TO KEEP AT THIS. IF LILY ALLEN CAN DO IT WHY CAN'T I?!?

ok enough with the shouting i apologise i'm a proper prat. now to something wonderfully delightly musically delicious...a track featuring the goddess divine Santi White otherwise known as SANTOGOLD, the sexiest brown motherf#$%er on the planet (sorry blair underwood/usher & abdul) but none other than Pharrell ( oh yeah + Chad so technically N.E.R.D) and the man the myth the talented and not disgusting/not a junkie American version of pete doherty Julian Casablancas. check it out here of all places! another reason why they are one of the coolest footwear providers in the universe.

on a totally different note I'VE BEEN PUBLISHED! it's an honor and a pleasure to be featured on this fine young ladie's blog. i hope to bestow her the same opportunity quite soon.
