The Informant Review

I caught The Informant in the beginning of October and am still trying to comprehend the myriad of events and plot twists that occur in this delightfully entertaining film. As always Steven Soderbergh and Matt Damon are brilliant, and the mastery of each craft is so subtly executed, which is why I'm still appreciating and trying to unravel this dramatic-dark comedy, loosely based on the true story of a man who becomes an informant for the FBI will help him move up in the company. It's a solid film that will probably get some love come awards season, so don't be surprised when you see Matt Damon or Soderbergh all over the red carpets.

My rating: 8.8/10

Welcome Back Boys!

On Saturday, November 21, band extraordinaire, Awesome New Republic will be playing an end of tour show in North Miami at Studio 1415. And to top if off Panic Bomber will be performing as well, and after his ridiculously fantastic performance last Saturday, this should be a hoedown.

Zombieland Review

I caught this quirky little zomedy (=comedy + zombie movie) back in October and still can't get over THE best cameo I've ever seen in a movie. I won't give it away, but it will have you laughing weeks later. This movie was silly, funny, fantastically gory and just an all around good time. If you had any interest in seeing it, definitely check it out.

My rating: 8.5/10

trailer trash - Nine

The sheer excitement I have for this film cannot be expressed in words because it's a combination of a myriad of my favorite things, music, fashion, spectacle and undeniably epic talent. I've been on a pretty serious Daniel Day-Lewis kick lately (I've watched There Will Be Blood, Gangs of New York, The Age of Innocence in the past 2 weeks alone.) This movie is total Oscar Bait, and between everyone involved in it's production there's over half a dozen Oscars between them, so this movie is obviously a contender this awards season.
