omg anna wintour actually wears something more than once!

so anna wintour, editrix of VOGUE, really loves Prada (there was a book and a movie supposedly based on her Devil-ish Love for the the designer,) but apparently she really loves Oscar de la Renta. so much so she's worn the same dress out to 2 different events in the past 2 weeks. which isn't too shocking since that's what normal people do, but this woman is heralded as the end all and be all of fashion and it's great to know she can't help but wear something she loves as often as possible. anna is "the most powerful woman at the most powerful magazine in fashion," in an idustry that thrives on consumerism it's just intriguing to see her photographed in the same thing in such a short time period.L: In Oscar de la Renta Resort 2009 with Vera Wang, Tommy Hilfiger's Engagement Party; New York, June 9.
R: Sex and the City Premiere After Party; New York, May 27.

we're in a recession and even the fashion industry is feeling it. but that's not stopping anyone from creating beautiful and luxurious pieces of art that are often quantified as "price upon request." and one fashion house who isn't afraid of an economic decline and has started their wares online is Balenciaga.

anyone who knows me knows my obsession with fashion, and one of my favorite designers right now that i can't wait to wear when "i grow up" is l Nicholas Ghesquiere for Balenciaga or "the master of us all." i love them not just for their creation of THE most beautiful gladiator heel in existence and their use of the gorgeous and elegant jennifer connoly in their ad campaign (which can both be seen to the left.) but for the innovation and unconventionally phenomenal wares they create. which can be seen in their new resort collection. which just happens to be too damn cool as always. so here's a look at the Balenciaga Resort 2009 line.

basically resort lines are for people with too much damn money, because women are supposed to be wearing these outfits in the tropical location they go to during the winter months on holiday or cruises. how absurd, yet how chic.
