i once waited in the rain for 4 hours for this man...

the week before i started college, i went to visit an old friend from boarding school in the city. after she left town unexpectedly i had some time to myself and knew the only thing i wanted to see was Liev Schreiber in Henry V at the Delacorte Theatre. the thing about Shakespeare in the Park performances are that they're free, so at that point tickets were distributed on a first come first served basis on the day of the show, starting at around 12:30/1 pm outside of the theatre in Central Park. i got there at 8:30 in the morning... and i was not the first person in line...and it rained...BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. liev was and is incredible. he has undeniable talent that creates electrifying and memorable performances (yes even in the "Scream" movies, the new "Manchurian Candidate," and as Kessler on CSI!)

From "Henry V"

i'm not one to wait outside a stage door, for autographs, but after his performance i waited to just catch a glimpse of the man i'd respected and been enamored with for 6 years at that point. he signed my playbill, i told him i loved his work, he shook my hand and then we left the park together. granted there were like 25 other people who were heading home after the show, but he was cordial and pleasant with the fans that had approached him as he walked his bike towards wherever his night was going to lead him. i may have gotten distracted and realized i was following him but it's just nice to see him back on the bike. to experience and try to grasp the brilliance that is Liev you can see him chat with another gent I hold in high esteem, Mr. Charlie Rose, here.

oh and did i mention i think he's smoking ass hot (don't mind the mutton chops he just has them because he's Sabretooth in the new "Wolverine" movie)...

...& he's naomi watts' baby daddy, so she's clearly a fan too.
