Iggy Pop SWEATS it out with ANR

So it turns out that on Saturday, August 22nd Sweat Records will be throwing a little shindig at Awarehouse in Wynwood, to celebrate the release of some rad Iggy Pop shirts, & he'll supposedly be there as the guest of honor. & there'll be performances by Awesome New Republic and The Jacuzzi Boys, DJs galore, live painting by Francesco LoCastro and a bunch of other good stuff. ANR plays tonight for a good cause, it's a free event but all donations will be going to be art supplies for inner city kids since the budgets were completely slashed. They'll be playing form 8-10 with "The State Of." & then the party continues/charity event officially starts at The Vagabond where Junc Ops will dazzle us with their brilliance, along with the likes of Afrobeta and other great local acts.

The best damn band in town...

by far is Awesome New Republic, and I'm not the only person who thinks so. I've been utterly in love with their music since the I randomly caught them at The University of Miami's mini music festival Canefest in 2005. They've moved out of town and returned, changed their lineup and & played almost every venue of note in this town, but their sound has remained the same, and undeniable amazing, so check out & enjoy their video for "Digital World."

After touring the East coast for the past couple weeks, Awesome New Republic will be playing at The Vagabond Friday night and you should absolutely check it out.

Just found this photo of me and Case from Joauin Phoenix 'performed' at LIV, felt like sharing since we whooped it up again at the Florida Room for ANR on Thursday Night. I can't remember the last time I found myself on the beach, but have ended up there (and probably will again during WMC) with this cool cat, I haven't seen in almost a decade. I guess the Beach does bring people together.
