It's Monday...

For those of you who enjoyed not celebrating Father's Day, "Not a Father's Day" may be for you. [Peep it here if the video doesn't work.]

It's Monday...

So I've decided to shake things up and start giving props to NPH (more commonly known as Neil Patrick Harris or Doogie Howser, M.D) on Mondays during the summer (& maybe others) instead of Liev. With How I Met Your Mother in reruns, what better time to catch up on the antics and awesomeness of one of the most entertaining and well played characters on TV, Barney Stinson (...plus Jason Segel & Alyson Hannigan are pretty damn adorable as Marshall and Lily.) Not only did he do a great job hosting The Tony's last week, but it's his birthday, so I had to show him some love, on his special day, since he makes almost every Monday worthwhile and laughable.

But I'm soooooooooooo excited considering I postitively love this show and can't wait to find out what's going to happen next with Don and Betty's baby, but mainly with Peggy and Pete, & I'm hoping Ken Cosgrove, finally gets some respect and a little more air time.

Quite possibly one of the most underated & poignant comedies on TV...

I absolutely love How I Met Your Mother [so much that after it's 1st season when I saw star Josh Radnor at Coachella 4 years ago I followed him for all of 10 seconds] and really like how poignant and relevant the show is for the dating age we live in. Monday night's ep was called "The Three Days Rule," & focused on how long a guy should take to call a girl he likes. Neil Patrick Harris blows you away in the first 2 minutes of the show with the perfect explanation as to why "because Jesus came up with it," & why texting is just as bad. Check out the ep here.

"Breaking Bad" is badass and brilliant

"Breaking Bad" is one of the most exciting, original and well acted shows on TV and you're probably not watching it. I immersed myself in a season 1 marathon all day Sunday to prep myself for the Season 2 premiere and even got my mom to watch all 7 episodes which she really enjoyed and she's a harsher critic than Simon Cowell. Three quarters of the way into the premiere episode she asked me "What is this crap" and I informed her that "Breaking Bad" is about a high school chemistry teacher who lives a simple life in Albaquerque finds out he's got inoperable lung cancer and decides to make crystal meth so he can leave his pregnant wife and teenage son money after he's gone. He ends up teaming up with a former student, who failed chemistry but happens to be a killer salesman, and the comic relief on the show. I want to say that it's reminiscent of great dramas like The Wire and The Shield, but it's something completely new and different.

Breaking Bad is just a stellar accomplishment that I can only speak highly of and wish that I had back in September after Cranston won the Emmy for Best Actor in a Television Drama, he beat out Jon Hamm's beautifully bleak Don Draper! So check out this show if you have the chance and want to see something great.

24

This season has been above aboard. I was worried about whether Jack Bauer would be a character of relevance in this era of "change & hope," but it turns out that he is, because first and foremost the creator & writers of the show have developed and had Kiefer Sutherland portray a character of substance. 24 continues to tell thrilling, original, captivating stories, filled with action, emotion, & drama.

Though I have to admit one of my favorite things about the show are the ads/PSA's the cast does to raise environmental awareness & plug the network. Like the one done by Chery Jones that aired in tonight's episode, where she read lines like "on 24 we're on a desperate race against time to prevent calamity...a very real threat is climate change...for tips on how you can reduce your own carbon footprint go to www.fox.com to stop the clock on global warming."

I just had to mention it since it made me chuckle, & I love 24.
