It's Monday...

'Wolverine' claws to top of box office - Entertainment News, Film News, Media - Variety which means Liev, oh yeah & Hugh Jackman were # 1 this weekend. Did you see it? I was going to but just couldn't bring myself to head to the theater, especially after I came across a Kate & Leopold/ Serendipity double feature deal (pictured above.) If you haven't seen K & L it's an incredibly cute and presposterous romcom starring Hugh Jackman & Meg Ryan, where Liev plays an integral and entertaining supporting role.

Here's the incredibly generic trailer, but Hugh & Liev are so darn great, & the fact that the plot is out of this world makes this movie forgivable.

When worlds collide: Liev Schreiber and Franz Ferdinand

Last night the undeniably talented Liev Schreiber and the fantastically delightful Franz Ferdinand were on The Late Show with David Letterman. Check out the clips below, but I doubt anyone on the planet was as excited about this pairing as I was.

Liev's interview

i once waited in the rain for 4 hours for this man...

the week before i started college, i went to visit an old friend from boarding school in the city. after she left town unexpectedly i had some time to myself and knew the only thing i wanted to see was Liev Schreiber in Henry V at the Delacorte Theatre. the thing about Shakespeare in the Park performances are that they're free, so at that point tickets were distributed on a first come first served basis on the day of the show, starting at around 12:30/1 pm outside of the theatre in Central Park. i got there at 8:30 in the morning... and i was not the first person in line...and it rained...BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. liev was and is incredible. he has undeniable talent that creates electrifying and memorable performances (yes even in the "Scream" movies, the new "Manchurian Candidate," and as Kessler on CSI!)

From "Henry V"

i'm not one to wait outside a stage door, for autographs, but after his performance i waited to just catch a glimpse of the man i'd respected and been enamored with for 6 years at that point. he signed my playbill, i told him i loved his work, he shook my hand and then we left the park together. granted there were like 25 other people who were heading home after the show, but he was cordial and pleasant with the fans that had approached him as he walked his bike towards wherever his night was going to lead him. i may have gotten distracted and realized i was following him but it's just nice to see him back on the bike. to experience and try to grasp the brilliance that is Liev you can see him chat with another gent I hold in high esteem, Mr. Charlie Rose, here.

oh and did i mention i think he's smoking ass hot (don't mind the mutton chops he just has them because he's Sabretooth in the new "Wolverine" movie)...

...& he's naomi watts' baby daddy, so she's clearly a fan too.

It's Monday...

As Liev starts doing the rounds to promote Taking Woodstock there's more and more press about him, like this new People Magazine article -Liev Schreiber 'Spiritually Younger' Since Becoming a Dad - Babies, Liev Schreiber : People.com. Where he says stuff like. "I feel much older,' Schreiber told PEOPLE at the New York City premiere of his film Taking Woodstock on Wednesday. 'I'm older physically, but spiritually much younger." I just hope this movie doesn't suck.

another completely gratuitous Liev Schreiber post

you're probably aware of my respect, love and infatuation with Liev Schreiber but this is just a blatantly gratutiously adorable post of him, his wifey and their baby

It's Monday...

Liev's starring in the Arthur Miller play "A View from the Bridge" and made an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night to promote it. It was nice to hear a bunch of people shout: "I love you Liev you're so sexy!" Even if they didn't mean it...

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Review

I'll keep this short and sweet since I inundated you fine readers repeatedly last week with a whole lotta Liev Love. The title [of this new franchise within in a franchse] alone "X:Men Origins" lets you know what you're walking into. I'll be honest the opening credit sequence and Ryan Reynolds (who's only in the movie for 15 minutes at the most) were THE best part of the first hour of this insanely huge summer blockbuster. But the minute Taylor Kitsch entered into the plot as the undeniably badass Remy LeBeau aka Gambit (aka 1 of the coolest/most underrated X-MEN,) the movie set itself on the right track. By the end of the film I was kind of sad it was over (mainly because I wanted to see more of Liev, Taylor and Hugh.) Apparently there's already another one of these movies in development starring RR, (but I think it should be about Gambit,)
My rating: 8.5/10

trailer trash- X-Men Origins: Wolverine

I'ts Monday, and rather than the standard Liev post I thought I'd take it up a notch and actually feature some of his work. The trailer for "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" premiered last Friday and I've watched it more times than any normal person should. The scenes with Hugh Jackman as the eponymous Wolverine and Liev Schreiber who plays Sabretooth made me particularly giddy I love Danny Huston and can't wait to see how he plays Stryker, but now for your viewing pleasure and certainly mine the X-Men Origins: Wolverine trailer.

It's Monday...

I know that I previously mentioned that summer Mondays would belong to NPH, but Liev was featured in this month's "My Favorite Place," which makes up the backpage [& is generally my favorite part] of Travel & Leisure. Considering The Delacorte is one of my favorite places in New York, (& the location of where I forever sealed my love, appreciation and respect for Liev) I had to share.

It's Monday...

I generally reserve Monday morning posts as place to share a little Liev Love, but after seeing this absolutely adorable picture of Naomi Watts, I had to give the woman her due. Not only is she beautiful, and an incredibly talented actress, she's Liev's Baby Momma, so I've got to give her props for that.

It's Monday

Time for another Liev Schreiber post, but this time it's a publicity still for X-Men Origins: Wolverine that opens on May 1st, so there's actually a reason for me to be giving Liev a shout out. I hope this film is good, I'm still very disappointed/confused about how Watchmen turned out, but still love a good comic book movie.

trailer trash - Repo Men

I was inspired to post this trailer because a good friend told me they were "pretty excited" about it. Considering his love of "Street Kings," and Forrest Whitaker's performance in particular,I wasn't too surprised. Since Jude Law & Liev Schrieber are also in this peculiar sci-fi action romp, I'll most likely end up seeing it.

It's Monday...

Can't really think of anything Liev (or NPH) related to mention aside from Taking Woodstock opens at the end of the month.

It's Monday...

It's Monday so it's time for a Liev post -I can't stop myself now, though I'm running out of things to write. Thankfully Mr. Schreiber has made an appeal to New Yorkers to support the arts, so you can read his words and not mine.

It's Monday...

Liev's still the coolest dude in this picture...

It's Monday/trailer trash - Taking Woodstock

I think I'm not as into Demetri Martin since he left The Daily Show and got his own gig with "Important Things," because I'm no longer in college, but the little intro he does for this trailer is quite cute and informative.
BUT MORE IMPORTANLY LIEV SCHREIBER IS IN THIS MOVIE![...sorry for the caps but It's Monday... ] Emile Hirsch,Paul Dano, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and a whole bunch of other talented/adorable people are also in it so I'll most likely be there opening day in tie dye...if Ican find some that looks chic.

Robert Pattinson fans, please step away from Robert Pattinson! | PopWatch Blog | EW.com

Robert Pattinson fans, please step away from Robert Pattinson! PopWatch Blog EW.com

Sweet Jesus people it was just a movie, HE'S NOT A REAL VAMPIRE HE'S A FRICKEN PERSON GIVE THE DUDE SOME SPACE.

I apologize for the caps, but this is just ridiculous, I feel terrible for this guy. Though I do like how the writer shared that she too has been enamored enough to follow only 1 celebrity, but didn't approach them. As someone who has also followed [for no more than 15 seconds- I'm not a psycho] only 3 legitimate celebrities, I adore - Liev Schrieber (what a shock,) Zach Braff (right after Garden State came out outside of Monty Python's Spamalot) & David Frankel (have you seen the 2 eps of Band of Brothers he directed?) I never actually approached them, I just want to have them be in my orbit for all of 5 seconds.

It's Monday...

Last night's Tony Awards were as stellar as ever, and while Liev wasn't there or nominated for anything it was cool to see a screenshot of him from a roundtable discussion he did for the American Theatre Wing about being a Leading Man with Jeff Daniels, Brian Dennehy and Kevin Spacey back in 2007 that you can check out here. I'll post more about the Tony's later, because they were wonderful, and I'll most likely be listening to the Billy Elliot Film Soundtrack a good part of the day.

It's Monday...

& X-Men Origins: Wolverine opens Friday, May 1st, so once again Liev will be gracing the silver screen. Check out the site if you have any interest in this flick. I'm seriously considering going at midnight on Thursday to geek out with the rest of the freaks who get as amped as I do about this stuff. Oh ye and of course I just want to make sure they maintain and respect the integrity of the comic...and the fact that Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Daniel Henney and Taylor Kitsch may all potentially be taking their shirts off at some point or another has nothing to do with my excitement either.
